Duquesne Pulls Away to Defeat William & Mary

Eric Williams Jr. and Austin Rotroff scored 17 points apiece and Duquesne shot over 50 percent from the field in capturing an 84-70 win over William & Mary in the Gotham Classic opener for both teams.

The Dukes shot 32-61 (.525) from the field, which included a 12-of-26 (.462) effort from three in picking up the win.

Williams (pictured) also pulled down eight rebounds while Rotroff had seven board. Michael Hughes joined them in double figures with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Nathan Knight paced the Tribe with game highs of 26 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Pierce added 19 points.

The Gotham Classic resumes on Monday back at Duquesne when the Dukes host UIC.
