Gotham Classic Starts on Tuesday

17GOTHAM_TeamsPRINCETON, N.J. –The seventh annual Gotham Classic tips off on Tuesday when UIC travels to Notre Dame to take on the Fighting Irish.

Under the direction of head coach Mike Brey, Notre Dame has won 20 or more games in 14 of his 20 seasons on the bench, including last season’s 21-15 mark which resulted a second round appearance in the NIT. Two starters return from that squad which is be augmented by the No. 10-rated recruiting class in the country.

UIC is coming off its finest season since the turn of the century, posting 20 wins in earning a trip to the title game of the CIT.

The Flames are making their Gotham Classic debut while the Fighting Irish played in the 2013 Classic, falling to Ohio State in the Showcase Game, 64-61.

After Tuesday, Gotham Classic resumes on Friday when UIC travels to Radford and on Saturday when Duquesne hosts William & Mary.

Notre Dame and Duquesne will host UIC, Radford, and William & Mary before meeting in the Showcase Game on Nov. 20 at Notre Dame.
