2023 Gotham Classic Announced

PRINCETON N.J. – Rutgers and Mississippi State will compete in the 2023 Gotham Classic on December 23, 2023, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

TICKET INFORMATION

Ticket presale will open at 11:00 a.m. EST on August 2, 2023, and end at 11:00 a.m. EST on August 3, 2023.

Tickets will be made fully available to the public at 12:00 p.m. EST on August 3, 2023.

Tickets can be purchased at TicketMaster.com.

RutgersHead Coach: Steve Pikiell, Big Ten

Steve Pikiell has built Rutgers into an annual contender in the Big Ten, making two out of the last three NCAA Tournaments. The Knights return All-Big Ten center Cliff Omoruyi who led the team in points (13.2 ppg), rebounds (9.6 rpg) and blocks (2.1 bpg) in 2022-23.

Mississippi StateHead Coach: Chris Jans, Southeast Conference

Chris Jans led the Bulldogs to a 21-13 record that culminated in an appearance in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Mississippi State returns First Team All-Conference forward Tolu Smith who led the team in points (15.7 ppg) and rebounds (8.5 rpg) last season. MSU is currently listed in most “Way Too Early” Top 25 rankings.

Last year, Saint Bonaventure won the 2022 Gotham Classic, defeating Notre Dame 63-51.
