St. Bonaventure leads from start to finish in taking down Notre Dame

BELMONT PARK, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure’s defense limited Notre Dame to just 36% shooting, including 2-of-17 from three, in taking a 63-51 decision to win the Showcase Game of the Gotham Classic presented by Discount Tire.
The Bonnies were led in scoring by Chad Venning, who earned Most Valuable Player honors and posted 14 points and 11 rebounds along with two blocked shots in a dominating performance.Kyrell Luc led the Bonnies with 16 points, highlighted by a 4-of-6 effort from three, to go with six assists. Yann Farrell had 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Notre Dame was led by Nate Laszewski and his 11 points and eight boards. Van-Allen Lubin had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
The Bonnies never trailed and led by as many as 13 points on two occasions. The Irish knocked the lead to as low as seven points on several occasions but never got any closer.
St. Bonaventure went 3-0 in the Gotham Classic presented by Discount Tire, which also included wins against Southern Indiana and Bowling Green. Notre Dame went 2-1.
